Storyline

Indian Army Captain Amar Kumar lives with his father, Ram, and mother, Saraswati. Ram has been associated with top freedom fighters during India's struggle for independence from the British. Almost all of these freedom fighters had taken advantage of their involvement and have taken up important positions in India's administration, and these include Jagrathan, and Mohanlal. While others like Vaisakh Ansari and Ram have chosen not to. Amar goes to Delhi and meets Mohanlal, who offers him a position of personal secretary with Jagrathan. Then a chain of events lead to the death of Jagrathan's pilot son, Surender, resulting in Jagrathan threatening to expose the powers that-be unless they come clean and admit their involvement. Then Jagrathan is killed in a vehicle accident. Before dying he asks Dr. Shabnam to hand-over a key to Amar. Before Shabnam could do so, she is attacked by two unknown men, and wounded. Together with Amar and Rafiq Sayed Jaffrey, they locate the key - but do not ... Written by rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Good multi starer movie
31 March 2005 | by (Belgium) – See all my reviews

Believe me its a very good movie.Every country is only as good as the people living in it. B.R Chopra's Awam is the story of people who are willing to lay down their lives to fight any danger for their country. Captain Amar (Rajesh Khanna), the son of a freedom fighter is posted to Delhi. He is employed as the P.A. of Jagrattan (Om Shivpuri), the minister of Defence Purchases on the recommendation of Mohanlal (Shafi Inamdar), his father's friend.Mohanlal opens his home to Amar and there it is he meets Sushma (Poonam Dhillon) and falls in love with her. On meeting Colonel Zaidi (Nana Patekar) Amar learns that his posting was a front for him to uncover a spy ring that was endangering the Country. While Amar gets too close for comfort, the spy ring kills Jagrattan, who leaves a vital clue behind. Now, Amar has to peel through layers of deceit to unmask the real traitors and stop them before they destroy his beloved country. Smita Patil and Raj Babbar are also there in this multi-starer.
