This is a story of three brothers.The story is told by the teacher Wilhelm Horsma.Two of the brothers, Ana and Vilippus, believe the third brother, Elmeri, is crazy.They all hop on a tractor and start driving towards a madhouse.A lot of stuff happens towards their ride.The two-episode miniseries, Siunattu hulluus (1975) is directed by the late Rauni Mollberg and written by Panu Rajala.The movie is based on the novel by Aapeli.The actors are terrific.Mikko Nousiainen, who talked about the making after this, plays Ana Rummukainen.The great late Toivo "Topi" Tuomainen plays Vilippus.Martti Kuosmanen is Elmeri.Veijo Pasanen, who became known as Pelle Hermanni to me as a child, plays Horsma.There's a lot of great and funny stuff in this, like the pickpocket who becomes a prechingman.At one point the tractor takes the brothers to Tuusniemi, the place I've lived a big part of my life.It's a great thrill to see how different the village looked back then.I hadn't seen the movie in more than a decade.It's a classic that never gets old.
