The Honorable Algy (1916) - Lost ?
17 July 2016 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Algy's ( Charles Ray ) parents send him away from England, as well as from his sweetheart Patricia ( Margery Wilson ), with orders to marry an American heiress and so restore the family fortune. On the steamship to the United States, Algy meets the perfect matrimonial candidate, Grace Dryker ( Margaret Thompson ), and endears himself to her by recovering her stolen jewels. As thanks, Grace does the next best thing to marrying him, she has her sweetheart, a Wall Street broker, make an investment for Algy, through which he earns $50,000. Grace then brings Patricia to America, and Algy, having secured the family fortune without giving up his bachelor's status, marries her.

This 1916 silent five reel comedy/drama was produced by the New York Motion Picture Corporation and starred Charles Ray. The survival status of The Honorable Algy is listed as unknown, sadly suggesting it may now be a lost silent film.
