With almost five million admissions in West Germany alone (40 million worldwide), the film was a huge success. It started a wave of sex education movies, especially those by Oswalt Kolle.
Approved by the Australian Department of Education for secondary school pupils.
The film shows a real life birth which was too much for some audience members who fainted during that scene. This resulted in the attendance of members of the Red Cross during screenings.
