Will is of course very disappointed when Vince's present is not a key but a wallet. Grace is not brave enough to tell Will that she was the one who talked Vince out of the idea with the key. Karen is very upset since Will's birthday would also have been Stan's birthday. This leads her to forget to buy a present for Will, which she was supposed to buy in her and Jack's name.

The moment Grace wants to call back she hears another message on the machine, but this time it's from Leo. He reminds her of the fact that their anniversary is coming up. From that moment on, Grace is no longer interested in her date, and thinks about meeting Leo. Also, Karen wants to meet new men, and she and Jack decide to go on a double date with either bringing the date of the other along. But this date turns out as a disaster.

Grace has crazy sex dreams, which leads her to the conclusion that she needs sex in real-life and sees a chance to get what she wants from Vince's cousin.

Vince finally tells Will that he got fired. While Vince basically spends all of his time hanging around at Will and Grace's apartment, Will gets the chance to become partner of his firm. Will's boss Margot wants Will to bring along Vince to a dinner where it is decided if Will will be partner. But Will is kind of embarrassed by Vince, who starts to annoy him. It gets worse when Vince shows up at the dinner and has just got fired from a job by Harry Winston. Margot introduces Grace to Leonard, but he is quite older than Grace expected and surprisingly he is also Margot's husband. Rosario is very sick and Karen doesn't want her to bring into a hospital, because she thinks she is faking.

It's Grace's father birthday and since her sisters are not able to attend the birthday party, Grace is scared of being alone with her parents. She convinces Karen to accompany her and when they arrive at the parent's house it turns out that Grace's mother is about to leave, too. This means that Karen, Grace and Marty Adler are all alone. After recovering from a first shock, Grace sees this as a chance to improve her relationship with her father. In the meantime, Jack convinces Will to go on a blind date. The date turns out to be blind man, who tells Jack that he thinks, after touching his face, is not good looking. But the whole thing turns out to be a prank for Jack's TV-show "Pink'd", a "Punk'd"-like show for Out TV. But, Will doesn't want to sign a paper, which would allow Jack to air the episode in which he is fooled.

Jack tells everyone he has a very important and famous guest. To make his show stage look better he asks Grace for some help with the decoration. When Jack's guest doesn't show up, he uses Grace as a last-minute replacement. During her appearance on the show, Grace reveals some of her positive thoughts about gay men, but when the show airs, an important part of Grace speech is missing. Karen makes Rosario stay at Will's and Grace's apartment, because she is mad at her because she knew about the fact that Stan is still alive. Will tries to help Karen with her anger about Stan lying to her about his death by making her tearing down the imaginative wall she has built up. This leads to an all new sensitive Karen.

But, the new maid threatens Jack that she will hurt him if he makes Karen fire her. Karen, of course, doesn't believe him when he tells her about her new aggressive maid.

When Rose tells Will how sad they will feel without each other, he feels as if she's talking about him. Grace shops with Karen to look for a good dress she can wear for the picture for her Christmas card, which she sends to everyone she knows every year. During their shopping trip they meet Beverley, who tells them that his wife Crystal passed away. He invites Karen and Grace to the memorial service. There Beverley shows them a beautiful dress of his late wife, which Grace thinks would be perfect for her Christmas card. Of course, she doesn't hesitate to put it on.

Jack is sick with the flu and Karen offers him to stay at her mansion so she can take of him. When he is in Karen's house he sees a whole new part of it and he finds something that Karen calls "the forbidden room". Karen doesn't tell Jack what is in the room. Jack tries to figure out what could be behind the locked door. Grace meets Margot at the coffee house and she offers her a job to design the law firm. Grace accepts the offer although she just accepted another offer from a retirement home. When she tells Will about her decision, he is enraged, because he cannot believe she is willing to work for the corrupt firm he left. What Grace doesn't know is that Will works at the firm again and takes the job anyways.
