Felicity Jones Flashes a Diamond Ring Amid Engagement Rumors
All eyes were on Felicity Jones at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards Tuesday. The star of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story showed up to Berkeley Square Gardens in London wearing a black gown from Christian Dior's Fall 2017 Ready to Wear collection. But it was the diamond ring on her left hand that really had people talking, as Us Weekly had reported three weeks ago that Charles Guard popped the question in early May. The event marked Jones' first public appearance since the rumored proposal; her rep ignored E! News' requests for comment. Neither Jones nor Guard has commented on the status of their relationship. Jones was on hand to give Maria Grazia Chiuri with the Designer award. James Corden...

Poldark country: the glories of Penzance

Come for the extraordinary locations, stay for the Michelin-starred chefs and historic pubs

There are no pirates in Penzance, but there is David, on loan from London. None of us are quite sure what David does; he used to be the lead singer in a band called Tribal Nation; now he lives on Berkeley Square in the capital. He spends 18 weeks of the year in the south of France and four weeks visiting Cornwall’s newest tourist hotspot, Penzance.

Tonight David is serving the dinner at Chapel House, a boutique hotel within an impressive Georgian building that was formerly a bohemian arts club. Two years ago he was here stripping wallpaper over a chilly new year with owner Susan, a long-time friend who moved to the south-western tip of the country from London with the dream of renovating and running an upmarket B&B. Now it’s the start of

Inside No. 9 series 2 episode 3 review: The Trial Of Elizabeth Gadge

  • Den of Geek
Shearsmith and Pemberton transport us to the 17th century for a witch trial this week in an episode high on quotability and absurdity...

This review contains spoilers.

2.3 The Trial Of Elizabeth Gadge.

“Sit in a theatre to see/A play of hopes and fears/While the orchestra breathes fitfully/The music of the spheres” – Quote from Witchfinder General (1968)

“It’s like The Crucible, but with a few extra gags thrown in” – Steve Pemberton on this week’s episode

The third instalment of this series of Inside No. 9 took us back to a perilous, and ridiculous, time in British history – the witch trials of the 17th century. In the small town of Little Happens, witchfinders Mr Warren (Shearsmith) and Mr Clarke (Pemberton) arrive to trial local woman Elizabeth Gadge for the crime of witchcraft. Employed by Justice of the Peace Sir Andrew Pike to find her guilty (or innocent. But,

Oscar Winner Went All the Way from Wyler to Coppola in Film Career Spanning Half a Century

Teresa Wright and Matt Damon in 'The Rainmaker' Teresa Wright: From Marlon Brando to Matt Damon (See preceding post: "Teresa Wright vs. Samuel Goldwyn: Nasty Falling Out.") "I'd rather have luck than brains!" Teresa Wright was quoted as saying in the early 1950s. That's understandable, considering her post-Samuel Goldwyn choice of movie roles, some of which may have seemed promising on paper.[1] Wright was Marlon Brando's first Hollywood leading lady, but that didn't help her to bounce back following the very public spat with her former boss. After all, The Men was released before Elia Kazan's film version of A Streetcar Named Desire turned Brando into a major international star. Chances are that good film offers were scarce. After Wright's brief 1950 comeback, for the third time in less than a decade she would be gone from the big screen for more than a year.

Sex, tipsy Tories & Elizabeth David: Fifty years of the West End's infamous nightclub Annabel's

You could almost walk past Annabel's without noticing it. Nothing about the handsome Georgian building at No 44 Berkeley Square suggests that it might have been a byword for decadent, zillionaire-superstar hedonism for 50 years. The only hint of exclusivity is the small, orange-striped sentry box, just inside the railings, through which visitors descend to the basement club. Nothing marks the stone staircase down which, for half a century, the extremely posh and the obscenely rich, the stratospherically starry and the suavely well-connected have passed, for 300 evenings a year, in search of discreet, expensive fun.

Sir David Frost obituary

Veteran broadcaster who started out in the 60s satire boom and found worldwide fame with his TV interviews

For half a century, Sir David Frost, who has died aged 74 of a heart attack, was hardly ever off our television screens, from 1960s satire on the BBC to encounters with the great and good on al-Jazeera. In the process, he became the world's most celebrated television interviewer.

At the outset, the very success of this man in a stupendous hurry proved somewhat alarming to some – as the author and translator Kitty Muggeridge said of him in 1967: "He has risen without a trace." Worse than that, he was nicknamed the "bubonic plagiarist", for allegedly appropriating Peter Cook's gags and sketches from Beyond the Fringe for his television show That Was the Week That Was, and so piggybacking on the achievements of others.

No matter. In the decades that followed, Frost

Mollie King (kind of) dares to bare in weird dress at the 2013 Glamour Awards

  • Pop2it
The annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards took place June 4 at the Berkeley Square Gardens in London, England -- Victoria Beckham was crowned Woman of the Decade and Nicole Scherzinger was named Best TV Personality.

But turning heads on the red carpet was The Saturdays singer Mollie King, who wore a rather interesting frock for the occasion.

Pictured above, you can see that King appears to be scantilly-clad, with the red dress seemingly barely covering her bosom. Except -- there's a mesh underlay that is clearly visible, so the dress ends up just looking pretty weird.

But fashion aside, King had a great night, as Tuesday was her 26th birthday and apparently the awards attendees knew it. She tweets, "I can't believe the whole room sang Happy Birthday to me on stage! Wahhhh! I'm so starstruck right now, @victoriabeckham and @kylieminogue!"

What do you think of Mollie's dress? Fashion fantastic or fashion faux pas?

Rita Ora, 22, was certainly turning heads at the Glamour Women Of The Year Awards on June 4 at Berkeley Square Garden in London. Do you think the grey gown was a good choice for the summer event? Was it beautiful or busy?

Rita Ora ‘Glamour’ Women Of The Year Awards Dress:

The “How We Do” singer wore a long Marchesa gown with veil ruching and sequin detail. While the eye-catching gown turned heads from the front, she turned even more in the back with a see-through embellished leaf-shaped design.

Ora kept her jewelry simple, wearing silver rings and stud earrings. She kept with the grey theme, wearing a smokey eye and pink gloss. She topped off the look with a cream, pointy-toed heel that was barely visible due to the dramatic draping.
