The Wonderful Stories of Professor Kitzel was an educational animated series that ran from 1972 to 1976 in Canada and lived on in reruns for many years after. Produced by Shamus Culhane for Krantz Films, the program combined film clips, animation, and narrative to teach the viewers about historic and events. It was "hosted" by the eccentric scientist Professor Kitzel (whose voice was provided by Paul Soles) with occasional appearances by his grandfather or his parrot.

What a great show
10 August 2006 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

I used to watch this show in the wee hours on Saturday mornings. I used to get up at like 5am and go to watch cartoons, and essentially this was the only thing on. I really remember liking it very much...dorky professor with his old dorky dad. Talking about Peter the Great, Trojan horse, Michealangelo....classics. They used to be paired up with the new adventures of Pinocchio, and the new wizard of oz cartoon...each were equally as tacky, but I loved them and watched them religiously for years. Also not to be forgotten is the Hilarious House of Frightenstein. Classics....hopefully these will come out on DVD some day.
