One of the evergreen dialogues that has made and shaped Bollywood as to what it is today happens to be 'Arre O Samba...Kitne aadmi the'... from the evergreen cult film Sholay. The irony of life is that while this dialogue happens to be immortal, the mortal 'Samba' in question, passed away yesterday, as he lost his battle to the dreaded cancer. While Samba was his screen-name in Sholay, his original name was Mac Mohan and he remained famous for his most stylish beard even then. Having started his 'Bollywood ka safar' with the film Haqeeqat in the year 1964, Mac Mohan acted in over 190 films over a period of a whopping 46 years. ‘Sholay’ Sambha Mac Mohan dies

Mumbai, May 10 – Actor Mac Mohan, known for his unforgetable role of Sambha in the super hit ‘Sholay’, passed away at his Andheri residence Monday. He was suffering from cancer.

Mac Mohan, Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon’s maternal uncle, worked in about 200 films and mostly played negative roles. Some of his films are ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Majboor’, ‘Rafoo Chakkar’, ‘Don’, Shaan’ and ‘Satte Pe Satta’. His last film was ‘Journey Bombay to Goa: Laughter Unlimited’.

<div>Mac Mohan, the lovable salt-and-pepper haired character actor best known for his role as Sambha in the super-hit 'Sholay', passed away Monday after a prolonged battle with cancer, a family member said.</div><div></div><div>'He had been suffering for long of a tumour in the right lung and breathed his last at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital this (Monday) evening,' his daughter Manjiri told us.</div><div></div><div>Mac Mohan was 71 and is survived by his wife Mini, another daughter Vinati and son Vikrant.</div><div></div><div>Mac Mohan was the maternal uncle of wellknown Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon, who was present at his home when his body arrived from the hospital, Manjiri added.</div><div></div><div>During his career in Bollywood, Mac Mohan worked in about 200 films and mostly played negative roles.
