Venice has been filmed time and again but it is always enjoyable. City of love and melancholy, city of lust and beauty. "The wings of the dove" is as much about Venice as it is about the love story which underlines it... The movie could not have been made elsewhere...Actors are all great actors and the outcome is therefore not as bad as the oblivion in which the movie fell.
