The ministerial delegate teams up with the mayor and Van Leemhuyzen. The three men disguise themselves as gnomes and go help the villagers doing their pesky jobs, however they always mess them up.
Van Leemhuyzen wants to organize a party at the town hall, but the mayor refuses to give his permission. Gert decides to disguise himself as a forgotten aunt who might be able to persuade the mayor.
A couple has given birth to quadruplets. They however get stuck in the town hall's broken elevator, right before the minister will arrive to see them. The friends decide to disguise themselves.
The minister organizes a contest. Starting with an egg, each villager has one hour to exchange goods. The person who ends up with the most valuable piece, will become the dealer of the year.
After a colleague laughs the mayor in the face for not having traffic lights, he orders to install one at the village square. It however does not turn green, just now Samson and Gert are in a hurry.
Saint Nicholas has visited the village, but he accidentally left his bag of toys on the square. He sends two of his Black Petes to retrieve it, but they notice some toys went missing.
Van Leemhuyzen proudly tells he has invented his own lemonade, but the mayor laughs him in the face. A real manufacturer however does show interest and wants to come over to have a taste.
The mayor asks Samson to guard the expensive necklace of the ministerial delegate's wife. Alberto however does not believe Samson to be a good watchdog. He and Gert soon set up a bet.
A vandal has destroyed Samson and Gert's new outdoor lantern. Because all the police men are absent, Van Leemhuyzen will serve as their substitute, while the mayor becomes the delegate's secretary.
