Very moving. . .

This documentary is about a woman named Paulina who endured a horrifying childhood and then goes back to her village as an old woman. The filmmaker goes through not only her childhood, but also how she worked through her terrible past and raised her own child to be strong enough to never let any man control her. Paulina tells her story to the filmmaker, who grew up with Paulina as her family's cook and housekeeper. It's amazing to see how the sexual abuse from Paulina's childhood directly affected everything she did in her life, and it's disturbing to realize that this powerful story is just one example of how sexual abuse victims are traumatically affected.
