Storyline

Goofy romance about a young man who desires a lingering romance, but shies away every time a woman gets close. His best friend is an eccentric who keeps lizards in his pocket to scare people away. The two share an aimless existence until the first man meets the second's neighbor, an inner-city school teacher whose car keeps breaking down which she keeps taking to the OK Garage, which is run by a crook who specializes in ripping off his customers.

Loved this movie.

A great character study, low-key, and surprisingly funny and sweet. John Turturro and Will Patton are excellent. Gemma Jones, who plays Will's character's mother, is also very good, as is Lili Taylor. But it's the sum of their performances that makes this movie worth watching.
