Storyline
Nandhini (Suhasini) works as a nurse in Madras, a sole breadwinner for a family of six siblings and unemployed parents. Though divorced, she feigns marital bliss to her family to save her ultra-conservative father the shock. After meeting an enthusiastic novelist, Nandhini edges towards a new start, but complications in her family stand in the way of her happiness. Written by Joyojeet Pal
The movie is a bit preachy but amazing. Suhasini and the famous playback singer S.P. Balasubramaniam (in his debut, I believe) have given tremendously powerful performances. SPB's role will linger in your mind long after the movie is over. The movie has the trademark irony of Balachander stamped all over it. A vintage Balachander movie to watch!
