  • Errors in geography: The train car that goes by has the letters "VIA" - a known Canadian rail service.

  • Factual errors: The 1996 Congressional election in which she ran against Dan Frisa was never considered to be a close one, like the movie suggests. All the polls had McCarthy up by a substantial margin and it was clear in October that she would win. She won 58% to Frisa's 40%.

  • Factual errors: On Election Day, a television reporter announces there is less than an hour before the polls close. She is seen in total daylight when in fact at that time of year it already would have been dark shortly after 8:00pm.

  • Factual errors: Passengers are shown climbing steps to board the train, when in fact the doors of Long Island Railroad trains are level with the platform.
