A terrific summer replacement show, and much better than what it replaced.
Hup234!25 November 1999
They followed the original Your Hit Parade format with then-unknown Chuck Woolery doing the Snooky Lanson host/crooner spot (and let it be known that Woolery sings very well indeed), and former Modernaire Alan Copeland was there doing a turn in the Hit Parade Spotlight. The original YHP had been gone just fifteen years at the time, and the whole revival effort was done flawlessly, a tribute to the original cast and crew. This effort lasted only from June to August, and I wish that tapes of those thirteen shows could somehow find their way to the marketplace. Because this was a terrific summer-night big-band network television music series and should not have been allowed to fade into oblivion.
