Slightly in the "bodice-ripper" category of those wonderful old Gainsborough productions from England, this elaborate Couples Romance is a satisfying ghost story from the VHS era that is refreshing when compared with so many all-sex or merely token "story" features from that period. It is completely out of touch with current sensibilities in the Adult Entertainment audience, which has gravitated to gonzo content instead.
The acting by porno talent is stiff at times, but still convincing overall in the haunted house genre. Leena and Colt Steele (latter gets an "introducing" credit and is perfectly cast) play the doomed lovers in a flashback prologue to an earlier century, in which evil Mike Horner gets to marry Leena by blackmailing a debtor played by E. Z. Ryder as Leena's father. Isis Nile is Horner's jealous servant girl and a curse on Leena forces her to hang around as a ghost in Horner's castle testing people for their true love in a quest to be set free from the curse and rest in peace.
Several softcore scenes and softcore camera angles during sex scenes indicate the filmmakers were hoping for crossover use, perhaps, of a soft-X version in 1994 (its copyright year). In any event, it is worth watching for fans of traditional Adult movies, when storytelling and characterization were still given some priority rather than the "sex is all that counts" subsequent prevailing attitude.
