My VHS copy is a "Video Classic" from Essex dated 1979. It says California Surfer Girls on the sticker on the tape but the film credits read Surfer Girls. The plot is similar of the other poster, but Silvera's scene in the van is earlier in the movie. There are a couple of other scenes that the other poster omitted, but nothing too significant. It includes an interracial scene in the fantasy sequence.
Good acting for this type of movie, though not much of plot. Not sure which of the 2 lead girls are Joan Devlon. They are listed as Melba May and Stephanie Young in the credits. Reynolds is listed as Lance Stringer and Silvera as Joe Skeg. Joey Silvera plays a guy trying to pretend he is a surfer so he can get the girls, but all of them see through him. Reynolds does several John Wayne impressions.
Worth seeking out as it even has some surfing footage.
