Trivia

Just before filming was supposed to begin, director Gérard Pirès fell off a horse and needed to stay in hospital for a few weeks. During this time Gérard Krawczyk (who would later direct the sequels Taxi 2 (2000) and Taxi 3 (2003)) filled in on-set while Pirès watched the dailies at the end of each day to check on the progress of filming. Goofs

Before the first robbery, when the 'military specialist' in Emilien's car racks the charging handle on his rifle, the charging handle locks into its rear position instead of sliding forward. This means he had an empty magazine in the gun. See more »

Fast & Funny
26 July 2001 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

A light film - the comedy is refreshingly simple and not slapstick style. Also the car chases are mostly pretty simple and not full of the excesses of Hollywood movies where everything MUST crash and everything MUST blow up in big style.

It's got style and it's got speed.
