. . . "Are glass slippers REALLY practical?" Maybe there isn't supposed to be any crying in baseball, but just try telling that to the gal who fouls a fast ball off her glass slipper. I think the U. S. Soccer Women would not even have made it out of the initial round robin round of this year's World Cup had they all been forced to wear glass slippers--though many fans said they played like they actually WERE shod in such foot gear. All those leading distaff funny car drivers would be totally stymied in putting the pedal to the metal if they attempted to depress the accelerator with dainty glass footwear--unless it was leaded glass. Loopy attempts to return Cinderella's misplaced glassware in NO BIZ LIKE SHOE BIZ. She wisely declines.
