Storyline

Mr. Magoo brings in his mail opening up a flyer for a store's "83rd Anniversary Sale". Magoo thinks that the flyer is a letter from his mother about her "83rd birthday" and begins to worry that maybe he hasn't spent enough time with his mother lately. He goes to pay his mother a visit to make up for lost time but upon arriving, Mother Magoo doesn't quite appreciate Magoo's attempts at being helpful such as baking a feather duster thinking it to be a turkey dinner. So she uses psychology to eventually persuade him to go back home (at least until next year). Written by Matt Yorston <georgey@atcon.com>

Was That Rose Marie As His Mother?
25 January 2014 | by See all my reviews

Typical Magoo fare, very entertaining.

Magoo gets a sales advert for 'our 83rd year' and thinks its from his mother and for her birthday.

When he shows up, she quips to the cat, "here comes my son. Probably thinks it's my birthday again. That'll be the fourth time this year." Amusing mistakes with Magoo thinking the feather duster is a turkey dinner and plucks it, then puts it in the washer and serves up the long johns as dinner.

Mother decides the only way to get rid of him is to decide he is sick and give him homemade remedies.

That does it.

But is that Rose Marie as the mother? Sounds like her.
