Magoo vs. a mental patient

This is a Mister Magoo short from UPA Studios. There will be spoilers ahead:

Magoo is missing Waldo, who is away at school. There's cute bit involving a television at the start. An old classmate calls, a practical joker named Smiley. Magoo therefore prepares for Smiley's visit by setting up some practical jokes.

Outside, a truck containing a mental patient passes by and the lunatic inside escapes and winds up at Magoo's house (it wouldn't be a Magoo cartoon if this type of thing didn't happen) Naturally, Magoo mistakes this loon for his friend Smiley.

Magoo pulls practical jokes on the lunatic, who makes several attempts to do Magoo serious injury. All this is interspersed with attempts by the attendants to get the lunatic back The end of the short is predictable, but it's still funny.

The Magoo theatricals have been released on a box set by Shout! Factory, along with a Magoo feature film. The box set and this particular short are both excellent. Recommended.
