A Mad House is a pretty entertainingly spooky Terrytoons short
7 November 2009 | by (Baton Rouge, La.) – See all my reviews

Just watched this Terrytoons short by Paul Terry and Frank Moser on Uncle John's Crazy Town site which was the first in its annual Halloween series of such material. It begins with some owls singing before segueing to a haunted house with a grandfather clock (complete with face and beard) and some skeletons also singing as well as dancing, showering, playing piano, and pool! Then the villain shows up as he's invented a potion that puts skin on a cat skeleton and then makes that cat invisible which he then tries on himself in order to steal a puppy girl from her boyfriend for his own...Don't try to make sense of what I just wrote just enjoy the singing and animation of the many skeletons being their entertaining selves while basically ignoring the bland dog couple skating and singing about their love for each other. Other than that latter pair I just mentioned, A Mad House is worth a look for animation buffs and anyone interested in these Terrytoon rarities.
