Kongo-Roo is one very awful cartoon from the Columbia series
tavm17 January 2009
Just watched on Thadblog this cartoon which was the first in his series of "Saturday Bowl of WTF". This has an aborigine (stereotyped with the typical big lips) hunting for a kangaroo with the help of his ostrich. Lots of gags that make no sense at all abound here though the full animation is good for the period this Columbia cartoon was made. Stan Freberg did the voices so if you're a fan of his that might the only thing this cartoon has to recommend it. All I feel like saying is if you're a animation completist, by all means give Kongo-Roo a look. Otherwise, stay away. Oh, and the dumb voice that Freberg uses sounds a lot like that character in the Warner Bros. cartoons that always calls anybody he meets, "George"...
