Magoo vs. the tax man

This is a Mister Magoo short from UPA Studio. There will be spoilers ahead:

This is an average Magoo short. Magoo wants to sell some of his furnishings as antiques, but there's a case of mistaken identity between a customer and a tax assessor, with Magoo mistakenly telling the tax man his stuff is worth more than it is and getting in trouble.

The end of the short is reasonably good, but the rest of the short is underwhelming. The Magoo cartoons are formulaic to the extreme and the best ones are sharply written. This one feels like a paint by numbers placeholder.

The Magoo theatrical shorts are now available in a DVD box set released by Shout! Factory, along with a Magoo feature film. The set itself is excellent and well worth buying. This cartoon is worth watching at least once.
