Looks Like He Directed It Himself
8 February 2014 | by (New York City) – See all my reviews

It's Father's Day and Baby Huey is going to do all his father's household chores, with the expected disastrous results in this poorly executed cartoon in the series.

I am not a fan of the one-note Famous Studios characters, but this one suffers in almost all departments: the backgrounding is overly simplistic and ugly, like some one who wanted to work at UPA with no talent; the character design is too simple and roughly executed; the animation is about three-quarters animation; and the gags are set up and executed with little elaboration and at too slow a pace to be amusing.

It all can be blamed on the disappearing budgets of animation houses in this period, but that would not be fair. It looks like no one cared, with the possible example of music man Winston Sharples, who offers the audience a typically decent score.
