• Revealing mistakes: When Powell pulls the knife out of his shoulder, the blade is obviously retractable.
  
  
• Plot holes: In the "Dead Zone" where nothing electronic works (cars, computers, helicopters) Lara uses a laser sight to reactivate a time storm.
  
  
• Continuity: When Powell pulls out the knife and throws it at Alex, it is spinning. When Lara has time reverse, the knife is moving straight.
  
  

• Revealing mistakes: After traveling back in time, Lara stops the knife and turns it back so it points towards Powell. This seemingly creates a paradox which should make her action impossible. However time travel is also impossible, yet it happens in the Lara Croft universe. In various scenes you can see a medium-to-dark skin patch covering Angelina Jolie's "Billy Bob" [Thornton] and dragon tattoo on her left shoulder.
  
  
• Continuity: When Alex is counting down to get the first half of the triangle, he reaches 28 seconds. Lara then interrupts and has a conversation that lasts over 28 seconds. When Alex resumes his countdown he begins at 12 seconds again.
  
  
• Continuity: During the final action scene Lara puts her guns on the ground. In the following sequence, when she is running from the room, she has her guns holstered at her hips yet she had no opportunity to pick them up.
  
  
• Continuity: Burning cigars appear and disappear in Alex Marshall's mouth several times, e.g. during the Venice scene with Lara or in the Siberian ice cave.
  
  
• Continuity: When they're in the Cambodian ancient ruins, Lara places the clock mechanism in the eye of the statue. In one of the wide shots, however, the clock is missing.
  
  
• Continuity: As the locals are trying to pull down the wall to find the first piece of the triangle, Alex West takes off his shirt and starts to pull on the rope with the rest of the gang. In the next shot he is clearly seen to the left of the screen with his shirt back on as the wall topples down, jumping up and down and shouting something.
  
  
• Continuity: The position of Lara's hair braid changes during the final dog sled sequence.
  
  
• Continuity: Dust and tears appear/reappear and change position on Lara's clothing during the opening fight sequence with "Simon".
  
  
• Continuity: When Lara touches her father's hand, her arm is up. In the close-up, it is down. A few seconds later, the arm is up again.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: During the attack on her mansion, Lara picks up a commando between her legs, and with the help of her bungee cord, throws him into two other commandos. When they fall, you can clearly see that the HK G36's they're carrying are rubber, because one of the barrels bends as it hits the ground and stays at an awkward angle.
  
  
• Crew or equipment visible: During the attack in Lara's mansion, when she jumps out of the corner near the roof to pick up a commando between her legs, the camera behind her shows two crew members over her left shoulder.
  
  
• Factual errors: Manfred Powell uses an Ericsson mobile phone without opening the "flip" mouthpiece. One cannot make/receive voice calls on that model unless the flip is opened.
  
  
• Revealing mistakes: Before the attack in Lara's mansion she receives a letter from her father. Before she opens the letter she looks at it and appears to be reading something on the front of the paper, however she then flips the paper over and the paper can be clearly seen as blank.
  
  
• Continuity: In the morning after the attack on Lara's mansion when the delivery service guy comes in to deliver mail, he comes upon Lara's mansion doors open and then as he proceeds and the camera angle changes, it now appears that both doors are shut. (Note: This is because the exteriors were shot at a real mansion, but no permission was given to film inside.)
  
  
• Continuity: When Alex West gets out of the shower when he hears the noise, he opens the door and a maid is holding one towel. In the next shot she is holding two.
  
  
• Continuity: When Lara is fighting Simon the robot, and forces the saw into the ground, the stone cut is there before the saw strikes the ground.
  
  
• Audio/visual unsynchronized: When Laura is driving to meet with Manfred you hear the sound of the car's engine revving and shift gears but yet the brake lights are lit up and the car is coming to a stop.
  
  

• Continuity: SPOILER: When Lara returns back in time and intercepts the knife being thrown at Alex, time is frozen while she twists the knife around redirecting it towards Powell; yet the orrery in the background continues to rotate.
  
  
• Continuity: SPOILER: When Manfred Powell is laying on the tomb floor at the end of the movie, with a knife stuck in his chest, he is laying down using a small step as a "pillow" and in the next shot the step is up under the small of his back. The next shot he is using it as a "pillow" again.
