The female lead was supposed to be middle-aged, according to the script, but was rewritten to be a 20-year-old so that Sarah Michelle Gellar could be cast. The studio wanted to cash in on Gellar's popularity as the result of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997). See more »

My friend Nolan told me this thing about men and sex, that they think about it 238 times a day and when they do they adjust their belts.
That's ridiculous, no, no, not the belt- I meant the amount. That's ridiculous. Do the math I'm awake maybe 17 hours a day. Times 60 would be 1020, divided by 238, that would be sex about every 4 minutes... yeah, yeah, that's about right.
I've been here 20 minutes.

In my opinion, SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE is a very heart-warming and romantic movie. If you ask me, Amanda (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Tom (Sean Patrick Flanery) made the perfect match. Also, even though I thought that Chris (Amanda Peet) was a beautiful woman, she was a little bit snobby. All in all, the costumes were well-designed, the casting was great, and, the directing by Mark Tarlov was fabulous! Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say, "Sarah Michelle Gellar and Sean Patrick Flanery have scored big time!" Now in conclusion, if you are a fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar or Sean Patrick Flanery, and, you haven't seen this very heart-warming and romantic movie, I highly recommend it. You're in for a good time, so, when you see SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE, prepare to be dazzled.
