The story is one of those simple heart tales

Author: deickemeyer from Chicago
25 January 2016

Here is a story of love and jealousy, developing some excellent character drawing in the two men. Jean, played by William Humphreys, is a well-drawn, good-natured, honest fellow. Pierre, played by Tefft Johnson, is quite the opposite, yet Babette, played by Florence E. Turner, selects Pierre as her husband. He becomes jealous without cause. But later, when Pierre is shot while smuggling, it is Jean who ministers to him, who hides him until the officers pass, and binds up his wounds, as his life blood ebbs away. The story is one of those simple heart tales. The audience follows with attention from beginning to end. - The Moving Picture World, May 27, 1911
