The movie was actually filmed in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) of Australia in Australia'a capital city of Canberra whose large inner city south suburb of Yarralumla provided the main filming location. As such, thereby the film's setting and the filming location shared the same name. However, Yarralumla in the ACT is not a country town in the Australian outback.
