On a rural island off of Hong Kong, a mute man who runs a small inn and whose only companion is his tomboy best friend, falls for a Hongkongese woman who rents his room to find peace after a heartbreak.
This movie deals with the painful subject of domestic violence, but uses Basic Instinct-like settings to do so. It is non-exploitative all right, but doesn't really dwell on the subject, and too many plot points are dispatched in a "It's-in-the-script" manner. Especially Eeeeevil Nick Mancuso is dispatched in a manner that wrecks his pre-supposed intelligence. It's not really bad as far as TV movie goes, but desperately average. You have been warned
