Dragonball Z Movie 11: The Super Bio-Fighter! I am the winner!

Let me just say this: if you want to see this movie because it has Brolly, go watch another movie. Brolly was cool because he was insane, unpredictable, and tough. In this movie, Brolly is resurrected through genetic engineering after a sample of his blood had been found on the battlefield from Movie 10. Of course, the whole process goes ka-blooie, and next thing you know, Brolly mutates into some walking, talking green blob with hair sticking out. It's up to Goten and Trunks, with the aid of #18 and Krillin, to take him out.

What follows is a long and intense battle against what used to be Brolly. And that's where the movie goes wrong: instead of changing Brolly into a green blob with no personality whatsoever, they should have kept his unique and memorable persona intact. But you never know what those Japanese will do next. Oh well.

Despite this significant flaw, the movie is alright. There's some good comedy (provided by the kids, and screwball numero uno Mr Satan), the battle with Brolly is not too bad, and there's even a tense atmosphere thanks to some self-replicating genetic liquid stuff that consumes any living thing it touches. It's also refreshing to see Goten & Trunks save the day, instead of always Goku.

All in all, if you can look past the tremendous error of changing Brolly into a walking pile of goo, you've got a mildly enjoyable DBZ flick. All hardcore fans of Brolly are well advised to go see movies 8 and 10.
