The voice casting for this picture is especially . . .

. . . off-putting, as both the ma and pa pandas seem to be yakking with pretentious, hard-to-fathom virtually unintelligible dialects. Their jarring accents leave little room for error, but other elements of LIFE BEGINS FOR ANDY PANDA are riddled with flaws, as well. Relegating Mel Blank, famed Man of a Thousand Voices, to uttering animal noises and incoherent ethnic injustice constitutes a monstrous lack of good judgment in the highest degree. Plus the ethnic mockery is not funny--then or now--and adds nothing to what story line LIFE BEGINS has. Even when BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY's notorious bogus Asian hatchet man spoofed this flick with his own LIFE BEGINS FOR ANDY HARDY two years later, he was able to top this travesty hands down.

Andy Panda Deubts here in his first Cartoon,you wont see it on TV due to some sterotypical images,Andy Panda is born in the Jungle to great fanfare all the animals come out to see him,The Little fella is cute but he's the kid from hell giving his poor old man a hard time when mama warns him not to go into the jungle alone or the pygmies will get him and put him in the Newsreel,The little brat squeals "I wanna be in the Newsreel"thru out the cartoon Sure enough the pygmies arrive [In Exaggerated Sterotypical fashion,Bones in head ect]Capture Pop and Andy with Mama Panda in tow the jungle Animals save Andy and his harrassed Pop,Not a bad Toon Andy is cute and annoying Poor Papa Panda gets harrassed in this and Future Andy Panda shorts,Politically Incorrect Pygmies,prevent this toon from Tv showings today
