Excellent Israeli 'French new-wave' film
21 April 2006 | by (Israel) – See all my reviews

The movie is about a man journalist in Telaviv, it starts with him divorcing his wife, and beginning to live with a young girl. It shows the bohemian life of the city, and the relationship between him and the young girl. It has motives from the french new wave. David Greenberg was a film critic before making this film(his first).

Here's a free translation from Hebrew of Ze'ev Rav-Nof, a critic at the time: "David Greenberg first film reflects his enormous cinematic knowledge, which burst out like a spring. It mixes different and contradicting fashions. In an Antonioni like plot theme, appears a pseudo-poet reminding of Renuar and Trifo, an external 'dynamic' poet reminding Laloush... All this is spiced with an Intelligent-Intellectual raisins straight from Godard".

I saw the film yesterday and enjoyed it very much. Much of it is a very nice put love story of the journalist and the girl. It is all well played, and well directed. The ending is Excellent.
