Ryan Phillippe may not have jumped on the holiday engagement bandwagon himself, but his ex-wife certainly did.
The "Stop-Loss" actor tells the Daily News, "I am very happy for both Reese and Jim. I wish nothing but the best for the mother of my children."
Witherspoon and Phillipe were married for seven years and have two children together, Ava, 11 and Deacon, 7. They also co-starred in the teen drama "Cruel Intentions."
In April 2010, the actor had spoken to Howard Stern of his relationship with the "How Do You Know" star, saying that they had "gotten to a great place where we're great friends and great co-parents." How great!
As for the newly betrothed Witherspoon -- no word yet on when she and Toth will make it official, but details »
"How Do You Know" star Reese Witherspoon is engaged to CAA agent Jim Toth, the Oscar-winning actress' publicist has confirmed to TheWrap. Witherspoon and Toth began dating around January 2010 after she split from her "Rendition" co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. The duo went public with their relationship in March. Witherspoon has two children from her previous marriage to her "Cruel Intentions" co-star Ryan Phillippe. They got divorced in 2008 after seven years together. Toth recently stayed in with Witherspoon's kids in L.A. while she filmed "This Means War" in Vancouver. Toth is the Head of »
Simian Mobile Disco have described Beth Ditto's forthcoming Ep as "raw" and "psychedelic". The dance music duo, who have worked with the Gossip frontwoman on her debut solo offering, admitted that they were keen to develop the sound they created on their single 'Cruel Intentions', released earlier this year. Gigwise quotes the pair, made up of James Ford and Jas Shaw, as saying: (more) »

Beth Ditto's solo Ep is "psychedelic disco". Simian Mobile Disco, the British dance music duo who worked with the Gossip singer on her first solo tracks away from the band praised the vocalist and said they used the tracks to expand on the sound they developed on their track "Cruel Intentions" from the second album "Temporary Pleasure".
"It couldn't have been any more fun," the duo, made up of James Ford and Jas Shaw, said. "We basically started where we left off with cruel intentions and went deeper into psychedelic disco territory. We tried to keep it pretty raw and simple, all the while focusing on Beth's brilliant melodies."
Beth's solo four track Ep will be a departure from the dance rock 'n' roll of her usual band, and it is unclear if she will follow it with a full album.
Although her new recordings have a disco sound, »
Reese Witherspoon has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The blonde star, who won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in 'Walk the Line' in 2006, was presented with the prestigious honor on Wednesday (12-01-10).The actress was accompanied by her two children, daughter Ava, 11, and seven-year-old son Deacon, for the induction ceremony which was held outside the W Hotel in Los Angeles. Reese looked stunning in a black and red polka dot dress as she was presented with her tribute - the 2,425th star dedication on the famous avenue. Her boyfriend, Hollywood agent Jim Toth, was also there to see his girlfriend, who has appeared in a host of hit films, including 'Cruel Intentions', 'Sweet Home Alabama' and 'Legally Blonde', receive the accolade. The career trajectory of Ryan Phillippe has always confused me. A talented actor who has taken roles in both venerable and popular - from Flags of Our Fathers and Crash to I Know What You Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions - his career has never really taken off (none of his films have ever grossed more than $80 million domestically). The guy keeps plugging away, however, and has now landed another project. Variety reports that Phillippe and actress Jenna Dewan Tatum have joined the cast of Set Up alongside Bruce Willis and 50 Cent. Directed by renowned stuntman Mike Gunther, the movie is described as a "heist actioner" in which a group of friends get caught up in massive diamond robbery. Neither actors' roles are specified, though it's believed that Phillipe is taking over a role that Paul Walker was circling. The project begins filming this week in Grand Rapids, Michigan. »
The troubled starlet was to make her comeback playing the famous porn star in "Inferno," but director Matthew Wilder told E! Online he could no longer wait for Lohan as she continues her treatment at the Betty Ford clinic.
"We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan," Wilder said. "We are currently in negotiations [with another actress] and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard. »
Directed by Hideo Nakata
Written by Enda Walsh
Is he a kick-ass, a jackass, or just another middle-class brat with morbid obsessions? Hideo Nakata’s new psychological thriller stars Aaron Johnson, who was last seen as the green-suited wannabe superhero in Kick-Ass. Now he plays a master of manipulation who preys on the weak from the safety of his bedroom. The trappings may be 21st-century, but this web of malice, cyber-bullying and teenage ennui also seems horribly familiar.
William (Aaron Johnson) is a sulky, wild-haired youth, whose parents disapprove of his chatroom activities and want him to engage with the real world. It’s more than just routine concern – the family has been undergoing therapy with a smug counsellor lady, who mistakenly thinks she’s cured William. One obvious source of resentment is Ripley — the name of his well-adjusted elder brother and also the eponymous hero of the »
Okay, so Gossip Girl realized they were in the middle of November Sweeps and gave us a game changer in Juliet's plans to bring down Serena van der Woodsen. And it will involve everyone's favorite platinum blonde dye abuser... I can hear the screams of agony across the nation at that thought.
Since Colin's book appeared again this week like a product placement for a new search engine or cell phone brand, I will follow suit and hopefully cash in on this stage prop gone rogue.
Chapter Six - When Opportunity Knocks, Crush Your Competition Even In Their Most Vulnerable State
The "takedown" tonight was a bit flat given that I didn't care for either party involved. I could've cared less if Serena stayed with Colin or not, because the formula is getting kind of old. Serena falls for a guy who has more flaws than a new piece of »

By now you've heard the news that Marvel Entertainment and ABC are reportedly considering a revival of the Hulk on television. Disney, ABC's parent company, acquired Marvel Entertainment in 2009, and this June the company launched Marvel Television to create small screen adaptations based on its vast archive of comic characters.
Why the two are pondering Hulk for TV we're not sure. Perhaps it's the fact that the Jekyll and Hyde thing plays well as a story device for serialized television, perhaps it's because the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno series from the late '70s lasted for five seasons on CBS. Expect this new Hulk to be created using CGI, however.
The Hulk series is said to be a priority amid several ideas Marvel's new television unit has pitched to ABC. It's announcement comes shortly after news that another comic book hero — DC's Wonder Woman — is also readying for a return to TV. »
This week's Easy A might look like your standard issue Hollywood teen romcom – full of webcam confessionals, cliquey rich girls and wildly unrealistic house parties full of whooping O-Town wannabes – but it's actually an adaptation of Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter. This means it isn't just a teen movie, but a teen movie based on Important Literature; just like Cruel Intentions (Les Liaisons Dangereuses), Clueless (Emma), and Ten Things I Hate About You (The Taming Of The Shrew). However, several works of literature remain unadapted for this vital demographic. Here's what should be next …

The couple met at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles, where the 90210 actress took her big sister as her date.
The blonde beauties were seated at the same table as the Cruel Intentions star, who hit it off with Angel, and has been "cosy" with her ever since, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
A source tells the publication, "It isn't anything too serious, considering Ryan seems to be dating every young blonde in town." »

Here is Diddy in a kilt: The fact that he’s at the MTV Crashes Glasgow concert is neither here nor there. I’m sure he would wear a kilt anyway and anywhere, Marc Jacobs style. Or, more aptly, Sarah Michelle Gellar in Cruel Intentions style. But, you know, no matter how accepted the kilt may (or may not) be for non-Scottish males sporting it as a fashion statement rather than a cultural one, it’s still funny. ‘Cause it’s a man in a skirt. »

The more things change in Hollywood, the more they stay the same. So Sarah Michelle Gellar has left CAA and returned to ICM and Eddy Yablans. When ICM last repped her, she starred in the iconic Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV series, and feature films including Cruel Intentions and The Grudge. She's still managed by Joanne Colonna at Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Leaving CAA to go back to ICM agent Brian Bunnin is Kevin Zegers, who had a breakout performance in Transamerica and whose other credits include 50 Dead Men Walking, The Perfect Age Of Rock 'N Roll, The Jane Austen Book Club, Normal, and The Narrows. He's still managed by Jason Weinberg and Justin Grey Stone at Untitled. »

Disney has commenced production on their latest venture, Monster Witness Relocation Program. The film, which is an adaptation of Ahmet Zappa’s novel Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless, is set for release in 2011. The project has been set up as a joint enterprise between Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment (I Am Legend, Hancock) and Zappa's Monsterfoot Productions and is being touted as a possible vehicle for The Karate Kid star Jaden Smith. Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films paid $1.5 million for the film rights to Zappa’s novel in 2005. The story follows a young brother and sister who discover they belong to a long line of monster hunters. Even during the madness of Comic-Con I managed to slip $10 into some studio pockets and get some 1-1 time with producer Neal Moritz.Neal has been in the game for a long time, having produced such films as Cruel Intentions, The Skulls and The Fast & Furious series.I had a chance to talk to Neal about his new movie Battle: Los Angeles and also his other projects like Fast Five, the new xXx movie and 21 Jump Street. I think was getting a bit annoyed when I stayed on Fast Five for a long time. Sorry Neal. It's not my fault you make entertaining movies!Check out our Exclusive Interview below. Allison Strong, Union City, N.J.Constant pouting, spastic crying spells, and the occasional desire to croon to “Bad Day” by Daniel Powter. If you're under 20 and suffering from these symptoms, you may be experiencing a midteen crisis: the heartbreaking realization that you've hit puberty and still aren't starring in your own Disney show. You may feel like you've been hit by a speeding double-decker bus, but you're really just moping on the couch surrounded by empty chocolate wrappers. I know this because I've been there. I had my first catastrophe at 14 years old: An agent came to my high school production of “Once on This Island” and requested an appointment with me. Hopeful that this was my big break into the industry, I walked into the agent's office, enthusiastically performed a song from “Wicked,” did my best reading of the sides provided, and didn't get signed. She explained that »
