New York -- Sony Screen Gems and indie darling Austin Chick are taking a trip to the Hamptons.
The label has signed on for a Hamptons-based thriller from Chick that mixes elements of the found-money morality tale "A Simple Plan" with those of a youth-oriented romantic thriller like "Cruel Intentions."
The untitled project, which Chick is writing and will direct, revolves around three early twenty-somethings -- two brothers and a brother's girlfriend -- who, while vacationing in the Hamptons, come upon a cache of money. They get embroiled in an increasingly complex plan to divide it up and elude the money's true owners, who are pursuing them.
The project, which also involves a love triangle, is set for a March shoot on Long Island. Casting is set to begin shortly.

Selma Blair has claimed that many of her lesbian friends have a crush on her. The Hellboy star has filmed three lesbian scenes during her acting career - most famously with Sarah Michelle Gellar for Cruel Intentions - but has never had any gay experiences in real life. She told Playboy: "I have done three girl-on-girl kisses on screen. And yet I've never experimented in real life. When (more) »

Hollywood actress Selma Blair is regularly propositioned by lesbians because of her three on-screen girl-on-girl love scenes.
And Blair is convinced that many women often confuse her for a real life lesbian, according to the New York Daily News.
She says, "I have done three girl-on-girl kisses on-screen. And, yet, I've never done any (lesbian experimentation) in my real life.
"When lesbian friends tell me they're in love with me after our friendship has been cemented, it always shocks me." »
The Disney Raven-Symone/Martin Lawrence comedy College Road Trip made almost $45-million dollars at the box office during its release. While I know that this number shouldn't sicken me (the film stars a Disney Channel Favorite and was marketed directly to the pint-sized viewers who watch the Cable network religiously) for some reason it does all the same, the fact the Mouse House was able to bamboozle so many into believing this could be even remotely decent is depressingly incomprehensible. The simple fact is that I am not this picture's audience. Neither are parents. Nor are older siblings or pre-teen brothers and sisters. We will sit watching it as if stuck in purgatory, damned to 80-plus minutes of tired comedic shenanigans and decibel-screeching tomfoolery the likes of which are almost too horrific to even imagine. Don't get me wrong. I'm not a total idiot. The target audience of pre-teens and »

Details weren't immediately available, however, the ex-couple have continually sought a shared custody arrangement over children Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4. The documents, dated June 12, only read: "[The court finds] the parties have settled all their remaining issues in these proceedings." Witherspoon is currently dating Jake Gyllenhaal, while Phillippe, 33, recently stepped out with Australian actress Abbie Cornish, 25. After seven years of marriage, Witherspoon, 32, filed for divorce in November 2006, citing irreconcilable differences. Blair is in negotiations to play Kim in the Reveille/Universal Media Studios project, which was put on the fast track in June when Reveille's Ben Silverman and Teri Weinberg joined NBC as co-chairman and executive vp, respectively.
Based on the hit Australian series "Kath & Kim," the NBC comedy focuses on the dysfunctional relationship between Kath (Shannon) and her daughter Kim (Blair).
Casting the title characters has been considered crucial to the success of the show. When the project was first picked up to pilot by NBC in January 2007, it was pushed to summer because of difficulties casting the leads.
Following her breakthrough roles on the WB Network comedy series Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane and in the feature Cruel Intentions, CAA-repped Blair went on to co-star in such movies as The Sweetest Thing and Legally Blonde.
