The adventures of a young naive journalist (Marina Vlady,17 at the time) who falls in love with a man accused of his wife's murder.Pierre-Gaspard Huit was responsible for the so-so remakes of Ophuls' "Liebelei" (as "Christine" ,1958) and of Gance's "Le Capitaine Fracasse" .
In "Sophie Et Le Crime" he seems unable to decide between two alternatives:a light comedy or a psycho killer film noir .Lovely Sophie investigates and tries to clear a handsome man (Van Eyck) of his wife 's murder .His brother-in-law is a shady person and he might be the true killer.
Even if you're not Hercule Poirot, you will have guessed the whodunit at least thirty minutes before the end
