Spike Jones tells guest George Gobel how he discovered his musicians: Sir Frederic Gas was "playing" the pneumatic drill; Freddy Morgan was a janitor who was cleaning Toscanini's dressing room at Carnegie Hall; Helen Grayco was working in the jewelry department of the department store; and George Rock was a blacksmith, singing "Two Front Teeth" while bending horseshoes with his bare hands.
Spike Jones and Eddy Arnold perform an impromptu duet for guitar and pistol in the park. The two are arrested for "shooting ducks out of season" and sent to prison. It turns out prison is practically a vacation resort and nobody wants to leave, much to the frustration of the warden, Joe Besser.
Spike throws an Easter party for little Spike, Jr., and invites Beany and Cecil, Nutsy the Clown, Doodles Weaver, "Peter Cottontail" (Billy Barty), and others as entertainment for Spike Jr. and his "neighborhood friends" (the children of many of the day's movie celebrities, including Gary Lewis and Christina Crawford).
