The Midnight Watch (1927) -- Lost Silent
12 July 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

This 1927 silent crime/drama was produced by Trem Carr Pictures, and considered a low budget film. Sadly, it may now be a lost silent film, and all I can provide the reader is this brief synopsis. Hopefully a copy survives for public viewing and a proper review.

Bob Breemer ( Roy Stewart ) a college boy-detective, takes on the job of clearing his sweetheart, social secretary Rose Denton ( Mary McAllister ), of charges of stealing a pearl necklace from her wealthy employers. Displeased with Bob's self-assurance, Chief Callahan ( David Torrence ) punishes him with the midnight watch, but Bob uncovers the thief, an underworld leader, friend of Callahan, and member of the necklace owner's social set.
