Bill Pullman plays George Bailey, and Mae Whitman plays Zuzu Bailey, one of his daughters.
This is the second time that they have played the roles of father and daughter. In Independence Day (1996), Bill was President Whitmore and Mae was his daughter, Patricia Whitmore.
The original Lux Radio Theater presentation was broadcast on March 10, 1947 with James Stewart and Donna Reed reprising their film roles. The radio play was again presented in 1947, 1949 and 1951.
Jimmy Hawkins (who played Tommy Bailey in the original Frank Capra classic) was also the executive producer of this one-hour PBS All-Star Charity TV special.
