After a couple of boy scouts and an old lady have tried to help him across the road, Terry fears that he is looking old and adopts a fitness regime, though Sir Dennis suggests that he tries wearing a corset to keep him in as he does. June finds the whole exercise ridiculous and dresses as a punk to show Terry how foolish he is being.
Sir Dennis brings in security chief Major Fawcett to protect his new talking fire extinguisher the Titan 2000. When the blue-print goes missing Fawcett calls at the Medfords where he sees the boxes of alcohol Terry is storing for his nephew Alan, who is between premises, and assumes Terry has stolen the plans to satisfy his drink problem. Malcolm is having an affair with his new secretary, who holds the key as to the identity of the real mole.
June forms her own catering company and is engaged by Sir Dennis for his dinner party. Terry is forced to step in and help after the hired butler gets very drunk bemoaning his wife's leaving him. Unfortunately Terry has had a recent run-in with the guests at an all-night grocery store and his attempts to disguise himself in a pair of glasses hinder his already limited butler's skills.
After Miss Dunwiddy reports a burglar Terry organizes a Neighbourhood watch Scheme. Though his zeal results in the man across the road catching his wife's lover, he goes ahead with a meeting of local residents. However whilst he is addressing them, a bogus policeman is robbing all their houses - except for the Medfords, which leads to Terry's arrest before the real burglars are caught.
On Sunday June and Terry arrive early at church and agree to look in the belfry for the vicar to see why the bell is not ringing. After they have discovered that the bell has no clapper the trap door shuts and the handle comes away in Terry's hand, shutting them in the belfry. As a thunderstorm looms it all seems to fit in with June's dream from the night before that they are locked in a towering inferno. Can Terry attract attention by throwing roof slates at a passing police car?
Terry gets a call to say that his late uncle's premium bond, left to him in his will, has won a quarter of a million pounds. After initially wanting to keep his win a secret, he gets drunk at the office and lets it slip, as a result of which he and June are beset by people wanting to share in their fortune. Needless to say his luck does not last, though he does win the first prize in Miss Dunwiddy's raffle.
When June's new cleaning lady, nosey Mrs. Bunce, hears her talking to her daughter Wendy, who is pregnant, Mrs. Bunce's gossip leads to people believing that it is June who is in the family way. To add to the confusion Terry's pet goldfish is also revealed to be pregnant, leading to general misunderstandings before the truth is revealed.
