New York Yankees' Aaron Judge Voted Mlb's Rookie of the Year in a Unanimous Vote

The New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge was unanimously voted as the American League’s Rookie of the Year on Monday.

Judge is the first Yankees player to receive the award since Derek Jeter in 1996, according to Espn. The 6-foot-7 athlete is also a finalist for the American League’s Mvp award.

“It’s a dream come true — an amazing feeling,” Judge told Espn’s SC6 on Monday. “Just to be mentioned with the other two candidates as well is kind of an honor with the season they had. I’m just blessed to be in this position.”

Judge was faced

Ratings Watch: ‘Game of Thrones’ Premiere Gives Rivals Summer Chills, But ‘America’s Got Talent’ Still Wins The Week
To paraphrase everyone’s favorite “Game of Thrones” star, Ed Sheeran: HBO is on its way to another castle on Nielsen hill.

(Apologies for that.) After three days worth of time-shifted DVR and VOD usage, last Sunday’s Season 7 premiere of “Game of Thrones” jumped to a 5.6 rating among adults 18-49, obliterating everything in its path. That was up 19% from the show’s already strong live+same day number.

What’s more, the rebroadcasts that night of last year’s finale, as well as the premiere (which repeated at 10:05 p.m. Et) also made it into the week’s top 25 adults 18-49 chart.

Earlier in the week, HBO reported that the Season 7 premiere reached a gross audience of 16.1 million viewers (Linear Plays + Same Day DVR Playback + Hbogo/HBO Now) up 50 percent from last year’s premiere. Per HBO, that performance set a record as the most watched premiere

With Manny Pacquiao, Espn Hopes to Take New Swipe at Boxing

With Manny Pacquiao, Espn Hopes to Take New Swipe at Boxing
Fans who tune into Espn Friday evening will be greeted with a rare sight on the sports outlet: A ticking countdown clock.

The on-screen timer won’t tick down to the start of Scott Van Pelt’s late-night “SportsCenter” or the first pitch of an important baseball game. It will instead try to interest viewers in an event that has become as infrequent on Espn as the ersatz timepiece itself – a major boxing match.

On Saturday, July 1, at 10 p.m., Espn will televise a bout between World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and undefeated contender Jeff “The Hornet” Horn at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia. The fight will also be telecast on Espn Deportes. It is the first time since 2005 that the popular Pacquaio has taken part in a fight that was not limited to pay-per-view.

“We sort of came across this opportunity to really plant a flag back in the sport of boxing in a

Watch Home Run Derby Online Free Espn Sports Live Streaming Mlb Event

The 2016 All-Star Game festivities continue Monday night on Espn with the 2016 T-Mobile Home Run Derby from San Diego, California. Eight players will step up to the plate with the sole intention of hitting the baseball as far as they possibly can. Watch Home Run Derby online free live streaming via the ESPN3 mobile app tonight or simulcast on Mlb.com if you're on the go.

Last year's new format of pitting one player against another from the first round to the end is still in effect. The seeding is determined by the number of home runs hit through Wednesday of last week so in theory the higher seeds should advance to the second round.

One side of the bracket features Mark Trumbo (1) against Corey Seager (8), and Robinson Cano (4) against Giancarlo Stanton (5). Stanton is the wild card entry into the Home Run Derby as he's not participating in Tuesday's All-Star Game.

Weekly Ratings: Reality Shows, Sports Specials Dominate

Weekly Ratings: Reality Shows, Sports Specials Dominate
Scripted programming continues to take a backseat this summer, with reality series and a trio of sports specials dominating the top of the Nielsen program rankings in key demos.

Tuesday’s coverage of Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game on Fox (3.1 rating/11 share) and the previous night’s “Home Run Derby” (2.5/11) were the week’s top two primetime telecasts in 18-49. While the former was within 4% of last year’s average audience, the latter was up about 30% and drew the event’s largest overall crowd (7.13 million) in six years.

The Espn-presented “Espy Awards,” airing on ABC for the first time, hit record highs on Wednesday (2.2/8 in 18-49, 7.75 million viewers overall), more than tripling its year-ago audience on the sports network. With heightened interest due to an appearance by Caitlyn Jenner as recipient of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, the three-hour show gave the Alphabet its top-rated Wednesday in young adults

WWE Raw Viewership Continues To Suffer

wwe.com

Monday’s WWE Raw episode did 3.54 million viewers. That’s the second lowest number in the last seventeen years, for an episode that wasn’t on a holiday date or football game. It is down from last week’s 3.647 million viewers.

However, the numbers were expected to be down, due to the Mlb coverage of the All Star Game Home Run Derby. That event ended up doing 7.162 million viewers over on Espn.

The positive for WWE is that the numbers increased by the hour –

8 p.m. 3.43 million viewers

9 p.m. 3.51 million viewers

10 p.m. 3.65 million viewers

But the bad news is that this was a heavily promoted go-home show for Battleground. It had been announced in advance that Brock Lesnar was going to be there, with the idea that he’s a draw for viewers. Yet the number of people watching continues to be depressingly low for WWE.
