More Old Faces Return In "Force Awakens"

Possible "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Spoilers Ahead

Two popular alien characters from "Return of the Jedi" are rumored to be returning in J.J. Abrams' upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" film and today, SW7 News has posted a report including what is said to be photo evidence of both them along with a new albeit familiar face from other franchises.

Their report mostly focuses on "Felicity" and "Heroes" actor Greg Grunberg who has a key role in 'Force'. Grunberg has reportedly signed on for three films and shot seven weeks in the UK on 'Force'. He's a non-cg human character with no prosthetics, and he will be getting an action figure.

The photos that come with the report show Grunberg in an X-Wing pilot costume and with facial hair. They also show that both Admiral Ackbar and Nien Nunb (Lando's co-pilot on the Millennium Falcon during the Death »

Matt's Inside Line: Scoop on The Flash, Teen Wolf, Once, Wayward Pines, iZombie, Major Crimes and More

I’m dying for some Arrow or Flash scoop! –Matthew

Arrow is seeking an Iris West type… No, just kidding. (Too soon?) The Flash, however – in addition to Wendy – is casting the season-long role of a classically handsome, square-jawed hero in his 30s to early 40s, a slightly cynical man “with an edge.” The casting call lists the character as “John Clark, »

"Let's Kill Ward's Wife" Turns Out To Be Sage Advice

28 May 2015 3:22 AM, PDT | JustPressPlay.net | See recent JustPressPlay news »

Scott Foley has been a silver screen star for some time, kicking off with a long run on Felicity before turns across all genres in Scrubs, The Unit, True Blood, and, most recently and recognizably, on Scandal. With the cache to pull some clout to his feature directorial debut, he does quadruple duty as writer, producer, director, and star of Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife. A black comedy that still manages to keep the tone light, even as a body is being chopped to pieces, the flick joins a perverse pantheon of ensemble humor with moderately well known casts that may have hit its high-water mark with 1998’s Very Bad Things. That crass little outing saw Jon Favreau, Christian Slater, Jeremy Piven, and Daniel Stern trying to dispose of a dead prostitute after a bachelor party in Vegas goes south.

Greg Grunberg's 'Matt Parkman' Will Guest Star On Heroes Reborn

21 May 2015 9:30 AM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Despite initially appearing to distance itself from the original series, Tim Kring's upcoming Heroes Reborn has put together quite the collection of familiar faces recently. 'Noah Bennet', 'The Haitian' and 'Hiro Nakumura' are all confirmed to be returning to the NBC show. Now EW are reporting that we can add 'Matt Parkman's name to that list, with actor Greg Grunberg (Felicity) apparently on board to return as well as the telepathic former cop. Grunberg had originally denied that he would be appearing in the revival when he was quizzed on the matter last year, but he appears to have had a change of heart. Notably, unlike Jack Coleman's Bennet, Parkman will only appear in a guest starring capacity. This situation arguably represents the best of both worlds - capturing the nostalgia of Parkman's return, without oversaturating the new show with too many old faces and storylines. What do you think of Grunberg's return? »

They may be best known today for their later roles, but these six stars all got their first break by playing super heroes on TV. Maybe these shows aren’t the most memorable or well-made super hero projects, and they aren’t the highlight of the actor’s career, but these little shows jump-started the careers of some future celebrities.

Bruce Lee

Started out as—Kato, the Kung-Fu fighting sidekick to the Green Hornet in the TV series The Green Hornet (1966).

After that—Lee had a recurring role in the detective series Longstreet before returning to Hong Kong to star in a highly successful trio of films; The Big Boss (1971); the Chinese Connection (1972) and the Way of the Dragon (1972). His first and only Hollywood film was Enter the Dragon (1973). Lee died young and his legend has grown ever since. He is considered by many as the greatest martial arts star in the history of film. »

John Litvack, the experienced WB Network executive who helped teach J.J. Abrams, Joss Whedon, Greg Berlanti and others how to run television series, died March 21 at a long-term care facility in Los Angeles of complications following heart surgery. He was 69 and had been in failing health since undergoing triple-bypass surgery in January.

Litvack was considered an elder statesman during his 1997-2004 run as head of scheduling and current programming at the WB Network. Earlier in his career he’d held exec posts at CBS, NBC and Disney TV. He spoke to creatives from experience thanks to the time he spent time behind the camera as a director of soap operas in the 1970s and as a co-exec producer of “Hill Street Blues” in the NBC drama’s final season.

“He knew story,” said Jordan Levin, the former WB Network president who also worked with Litvack at Disney in the early 1990s. »
