Welcome to another installment of Rolling Stone's "Everything Index," where we rank the week's pop-culture power players, some of whom even managed to remain fully clothed.
Let's just get this out of the way: Kim Kardashian's butt-baring stunt for Paper magazine has worked to perfection. It's all anyone is talking about, which is pretty depressing – and then you read the caption that accompanies her cover shoot ("Break the Internet") and somehow, it takes you to an even darker place. Are we all pawns in her Pavlovian posterior experiment? Is »
Clive Barker fans are still drooling down their chins at Scream Factory’s recently released Director’s Cut of Nightbreed (and with good reason, it’s amazing), and today’s announcement from the Sf folks regarding their upcoming Collector’s Edition Bluray of Lord Of Illusions is one more reason to let the Barker flag fly high. It’s so awesome to be a horror fan these days, as so many of our favorite cult films are getting the special treatment, it’s kind of awesome to be honest.
Hitting shelves and websites on December 16th, the release has quite a few awesome special features and some incredible new artwork to go along with it. Check out the full details below!

There’s been a lot of talk about the Nightbreed Blu-ray release, but fans of Clive Barker also have a Lord of Illusions Blu-ray to look forward to in December. Scream Factory officially announced the upcoming Collector’s Edition and we also have a look at the cover art:
“In the world where magic is real, death is the ultimate illusion. From best-selling author and celebrated director Clive Barker comes a supernatural thriller that rips apart the boundaries between sanity and madness, and between the art of illusion and the terrifying forces of magic. Written and directed by Clive Barker (Nightbreed) and based on his popular short story, The Last Illusion (from Books of Blood Vol. 6), the 1995 cult film classic Lord Of Illusions stars Scott Bakula (Quantum Leap), Kevin J. O’Connor (The Mummy), Famke Janssen (X-Men, Taken, Hemlock Grove) and Daniel Von Bargen (Crimson Tide, The Faculty).

In a time full of excellent Television programming, it would be quite easy to get engulfed in the flames of Hannibal, True Detective and various other top notch shows, and accidentally fail to catch another show completely filled to the brim with excellent writing, acting and some of the most gorgeous set pieces around. Luckily, thanks to technology, DVD and Bluray allows us, the silly souls who missed out on the greatness that was season one of the John Logan/Sam Mendes Showtime show, Penny Dreadful, the chance to rectify that mistake, and hell yes, missing what was in my opinion one of the impressive debut seasons of a new TV shows, was just that: one large mistake.
Right now, the idea of “reinventing” classic, beloved characters is in somewhat of a boom or craze, and for every well written fresh new take on a character we love (i.e-Hannibal »

The best that I can tell, nostalgia runs on a thirty year cycle. I can speculate that what everybody watches as children, shapes them into adults with a deep seated desire to emulate it or watch it being emulated. A select few make it to a position where they can actually interject that nostalgia into the contemporary mainstream, and satisfy both the fans of the original material, but also put such a spit shine on the old premise that even the youngsters dig it, and have no idea that it’s based on something way older than they are. In the 1980’s we »
After dropping a couple of images from next year’s The Last Witch Hunter earlier this week [see here], Vin Diesel has taken to Facebook once again today to release a new still of himself and his late co-star Paul Walker in Fast & Furious 7. Check it out…

Venice — Director Ami Canaan Mann's country music romance "Jackie & Ryan" is a film that raises many questions. The first is: Christ, is that dirt on his hands or some singularly ill-advised finger tattoos? Yep, those are definitely finger tattoos. And not very good finger tattoos. But let's try not to be personally offensive or get too hung up on some really, really bad finger tattoos. The hands defaced by the finger tattoos (did I mention the finger tattoos? They're just awful) belong to Ben Barnes' country singer Ryan, whom we meet as he brews his morning pot of coffee on a goods train heading in the general direction of Ogden, Utah. These hands are soon revealed to be instrumental to turning the engine of the plot, such as it is - these hands play guitar, fix roofs and politely caress Katherine Heigl's single mom Jackie. The filmmaker that I admire the most has not won any Oscars, is not celebrated on the festival circuit, and very rarely shouts from the rooftops about just how great he is. Robert Rodriguez has been pumping films out since the very early nineties, starting with the acclaimed El Mariachi, a film shot in bordertown Mexico for just $7000 in 1992, but picked up by Columbia Pictures to go on to take north of $2 million at the box-office. Since then he’s gone on to write, produce, direct, shoot, edit, compose the music, and probably make the tea on such films as Desperado, From Dusk ‘Til Dawn, The Faculty, Spy Kids, Machete and Sin City. He has also set up his own studio in Troublemaker Studios, and even owns his own TV channel, the El Rey network, a station that produces the From Dusk ‘Til Dawn spin-off TV series..

Even though Fast & Furious 7 has now wrapped recently and the movie is heading into post-production, French music station SkyRock.fm have learned that rapper Iggy Azalea will feature in the movie as a cameo.
“Iggy Azaela? I just worked with her about two weeks ago,” the actor said. “We casted her in Fast & Furious 7. She has a cameo in Fast & Furious 7.”

The ratty hair, the twisted teeth, the oily flesh. No, I'm not talking about the newest movie monster. I'm talking about our awkward high school years! In celebration of the release of All Cheerleaders Die, we're taking a look back at the Top 9 High School Horrors.
Looking back, we can remember plenty of high school horrors, and combination skin is just one of them. There were a lot of possibilities for this list, and we've got 9 of our favorites listed below. But we would have to flunk ourselves if we didn't turn in an honor roll of honorable mentions.
Of course another Lucky McKee film, The Woods, has to be listed, as does Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And those vivacious vixens from The Craft turned up the heat in their high school, and nobody - and we mean nobody - survives Cherry Falls.
And now, on to the...

So the big question everyone has been wondering since the announcement of the next Halloween film was whether or not it would continue on in the universe set up by Rob Zombie. Recently Collider caught up with Malek Akkad at the Saturn Awards, who shed some light on the subject.
“I can’t talk about it too much right now," says Akkad. "It will definitely keep elements and bring in new elements. But I really want to bring it back to kind of like, the classic – because the last one got a little dark – I want to bring it back to the classic Friday night horror film that people will really like.”
When asked about the ill-fated Halloween 3D, which was announced a couple of years back...

What makes a classic? Sarah digs into the ‘90s teen genre to find the difference between an iconic movie and a forgotten one...
The 90s revival can’t be ignored any longer. The nostalgia is in full bloom right now: walk down the high street and you’ll see 90s-inspired crop tops and stonewashed denim in every shop window, while current cool kids Iggy Azalea and Charli Xcx (neither of whom were old enough to see the film at the time) have paid slavish tribute to Clueless in the video for their current single Fancy. We’ve already pillaged the ‘80s for all they were worth and now, apparently, it’s time to start excavating the 90s. No matter how old that makes us feel.
If there’s one film genre that screams “90s”, it’s the teen movie. The decade was a kind of golden age for the »
Ok, so Halloween fans, get ready to change your pants. While a complete boxset of the franchise seemed virtually impossible, due to a handful of issues including distribution rights, and the longtime fan-bootlegged “Producer’s Cut” of Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers seemed like it would never be released, the time is finally coming. The always on top of their game Scream Factory, is teaming up 50/50 with Anchor Bay Entertainment to release Halloween: The Complete Collection September 23rd, in two very awesome editions.
Personally, it’s not everyday that something as huge for a franchise happens, so this is definitely one to look out for. The rumor of the boxset sparked a lot of fans talking, and now that it’s officially been confirmed, what do you guys/gals think? Will you be getting this one? For the official press release, keep reading!!
