Impressive atmosphere created by composer Fons Merkies, who's on a tour de force.

A man who has bought a ship full of illegal immigrants, must make a decision. Cees Geel performs this role in a great way, with aside him Thekla Reuthen. His character cannot do without your sympathy, what makes it more interesting. But the best thing that the film has to offer are the fascinating compositions that composer Fons Merkies wrote. His score does capture every single emotion of the film, of a character, it crawls down you skin and never let's go.This man deserves the respect, though it's a shame there isn't released that much of his filmscores. Fairly De Tweeling is the only one.At least looking roughly at it.Merkies also provided the score for another film directed bu Paula van der Oest, called Zus & Zo.And than there's actually another things which makes this film a good piece of entertainment to watch: the incredible use of on locations in Rotterdam, which is most beautiful place to film if you're searching in the Netherlands.
