Storyline

Kathleen's a hard-working single mother, who's saving to buy a house for herself and her daughter, Zoe. Sam's a businessman who has to pretend he has a family in order to close a deal with the mysterious Javier Del Campo. Sam owns the company that Kathleen works for, and as her boss, manages to convince her to help him out. But Del Campo is more than he seems, and it just might be Zoe who's making the real deal to get a new home for herself, her mother, and Sam. Written by Kathy Li

Quotes

Sam Field: What do I have to do to get you to forgive me?
Zoey Russell: [nonchalantly, with an innocent wide-eyed but slightly crafty "I've got you over a barrel here, don't I?" smile] A **pony** would be nice...
Sam Field: [disbelievingly] A **PONY** - -?
Zoey Russell: [nods and shruggily raises her eyebrows in a casual "Well, you **asked**" manner]
Sam Field: [with a short mirthless chuckle] You're one heck of a negotiator.
[pauses to think about this]
Sam Field: I could use you with Del Campo...!

A wonderful Christmas movie
23 December 2003 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Yesterday, on TV, my wife and I watched this movie for the first time, We found it to be an unexpected pleasurable movie discovery. Young Sarah Rosen Fruitman as Zoe "stole" every scene in which she appeared. This movie should definitely be a part of my collection. I strongly recommend it.
