Pleasant though cynical Hollywood story
lor_27 July 2021
Taking writing, directing and producing credit, Jerry Ross was obviously proud of this Ashlyn Gere-starring feature, very easy to watch but diminished by its cliched approach to the image of Hollywood as a corrupt place to work. Perhaps he was too envious of the mainstream movie industry to cut it some slack.

Randy West co-stars as head of a Hollywood studio, facing imminent bankruptcy unless he can sign a bankable star to secure a bank credit line. His girlfriend, law student Ashlyn Gere, connives to save the day for him by putting out sexually (and repeatedly) for arrogant movie star T. T. Boy, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Along the way, Gere's friend Sharon Kane converts their mutual pal Alicia Rio to lesbianism after the girl suffers boyfriend trouble. Casting couch action is treated quite matter-of-factly by West, who shtups an aspiring actress Shawnee Cates, while Gere arranges for T. T. to borrow West's office to give blonde Melanie Moore a test drive when considering her as his potential star.

The way Ross's script lets both West's and Boy's characters completely off the hook is a drag. A bright spot here is an uncredited role for Trinity Loren as West's busty secretary. She gets nude but only performs simulated sex with him, a surprise audience tease in an otherwise XXX feature.
