The film was banned by the censorship of the Propaganda Ministry under the Third Reich in 1944, before its official release. Parts of it got lost during the war. Staudte made a remake in 1947 titled "Die Abenteuer des Herrn Fridolin B". Parts of the first version were possibly used for the new version. See more »
