This has to be my favorite of all those Sunday afternoon dramas that the BBC used to show. Granted it was the only one I actually enjoyed but it was still brilliant. The Phoenix looks so realistic, almost like a real bird. The children are all very good actors and actresses. The story is really entertaining and very funny. The adults are all very good in the short roles that they have.

The only thing that bothered me is that the Psammead looks very Muppet like, but he doesn't make too many appearances so it's alright.
