Storyline

This sequel to Fugitive Alien is a bit more coherent until the end of the movie. Unfortunately, they make the part of the story that seems less important more of the focus rather than the conclusion when everything should of come together in an all out fight. There is a lot of things going on at the end, but you just do not know what as scenes seem to be randomly put together and one is left wondering to themselves "what the heck is going on?"

The first part of the story picks up where the last one picked up as Captain Jo leads his crew on an expedition to this planet to try and destroy this super weapon. They have a general or something of that planet cooperating with them on and off and they nearly all have a problem with heat stroke. The last bit of the film has Ken going against his former allies the Star Wolves and their leader. So much focus in this one is on the whole lets destroy the weapon that we hardly see anything about Ken fighting his former comrades and considering these people were supposed to be the great threat to the universe, this is the portion of the film that should of been focused on instead. They rather show us every detail of their ship battling an exploding star or every detail of them destroying a super weapon that has nothing to do with the Star Wolves than show us the part of the story that wraps up the series. It does however, at least remain coherent while they deal with the super weapon, before going jump cut crazy during the last portion of the film.

These Japanese television shows can be pretty good, but you really need to see them in their entirety. This one, Time of Apes however, look as if they would be kind of stupid no matter how you view them. Granted, it does not look like the editing done here or in that other film helped matters at all.
