ROCKIN' ROAD TRIP is a rarely-seen Troma release from the mid-'80s, one that is too tame by their standards and too amateurish by mainstream ones. The plot concerns Bostonian rock singer Nicole Miller (Margaret Currie) stealing $4800 from her violent ex-boyfriend, then running to the South with a large group of her friends (including her sister and a blind man). Hilarity ensues. The film is good-natured, but the narrative never goes anywhere, especially with its needless subplots (including corrupt evangelists and jewel thieves). The film also has some shoddy, sitcom-esque performances. ROCKIN' ROAD TRIP is a fairly worthless waste of time, and I don't see Troma unearthing this one for a DVD release anytime soon.
